As a Group, we care deeply about Environmental, Social and Governance practices that have a positive impact on the world and communities in which we live in. We have a responsibility towards our customers, our people and the planet, and give back to the world’s woodlands at every opportunity.

Sourcing timber sustainably

We ensure that the quality timber we use is sustainably and responsibly sourced – something not all our competitors can claim.

Our products are made of material from well-managed forests and other controlled sources.

Carbon Positive by the end of 2022

Woodlands is proudly part of the carbon footprint standard audit process and we are committed to achieving carbon positive status by the end of 2022 using a combination of internal initiatives:

Biomass Fuel: Heating for all three of our UK sites is provided exclusively by the burning of timber offcuts.

Woodwaste Re-cycling: There is no wood waste in our factories. All planed wood shavings, rejected or waste material is collected and shredded where required to be converted in to high quality animal bedding for the pet and equestrian markets.

In addition to working closely with some fantastic carbon offsetting partners:

Planting trees, saving lives

We have joined forces with Eden Reforestation Projects to help fund their mission of planting trees to help combat deforestation and poverty.

Trees provide a habitat for animals, purify water sources, control flooding and erosion, and help replenish the soil with much-needed nutrients. That’s why, for every Tiger shed order placed, we pay for not one, but TWO TREES to be planted in deforested nations that no longer have resources for food, shelter, clean water, and education. And, for every share on social, we pay for a third tree!

Together, we employ thousands of people living in extreme poverty and provide them with employment, education and tools necessary to plant, grow and protect millions of trees every month.

Pallet Loop

Launching in 2022 Pallet Loop is a circular economy pallet re-use scheme for the UK’s manufacturing and construction sector.

Woodlands Group are a founding member and proud to support the initiative that will transform the way materials are distributed across Great Britain and Ireland, with a simple, circular approach to pallet use that’s greener, safer, leaner.

Rebuilding communities

Born into a world where crime is the norm, the majority of ex-offenders we help come from poverty and have lived a chaotic lifestyle, often due to the unfortunate start they’ve had in life.

We understand that finding a good job with a criminal past is almost impossible. So we’re making a difference by giving highly motivated ex-offenders life-changing employment opportunities that across our Group

Tempus Novo has proven that risk-assessed ex-offenders can go on to be some of the best employees in the business, and we’re delighted to call them a partner.
